About the Island of Bra\u010d<\/h2>

Area: 394 km2 – the bigest island of Dalmatia and the 3rd bigest island in Croatia.
Island lenght: 40 km
Width of the Island: 10 \u2013 12 km.
Average temperature: 15,5 \u00b0 C
Number of inhabitants: 12 thousand, in island there are 20 villages and some settlements.
The number of shiny-hours: 2 718, alongs with the island Hvar belongs Bra\u010d to the most sunny places in Croatia.
Highest hill of the island: Vidova Gora (778 m),it is the highest hill of Adriatic islands.<\/p>

Capital: Supetar with cca 4 thousand of inhabitants. The island of Bra\u010d is 6 \u2013 13 km away from the mainland through the Strait o Bra\u010d (max. depht 78 m ). To the west is separate from the island of \u0160olta narrow Split gate and to the south of the island Hvar Hvar canal (91 m). The largest city on the east coast is the port city of Split away from Bra\u010d 7 miles, which is about 50 min. by ferry.<\/p>

Stone of Bra\u010d: the island is known by the mining of white marbel. Many famous buildings were built using this stone, for example: the palace of Dioklecian in Split, the cathedral in Trogir and \u0160ibenik, the White-house in Washington, Batty park in New Yorku, the monument of fascism in Addis Abebe, the Parliament and the castle in Wiena, the Parliament in Budapest and many other significant buildings all over the world.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Supetar is the largest city on the island of Bra\u010d. It\u00b4s the administrative, transportation and cultural center on the island. It has a very good ferry connection with Split. With its beautiful natural surroundings, countless beaches and coves, represents a diverse and exciting city. Its Island lifestyle can be felt by wandering through narrow streets, walking around the port surrounded by the palm trees and admiring its stone buildings and monuments. In the heart of the island lies one of the strangest places in the world and home to many natural phenomenon. Although the smallest with population, Nere\u017ei\u0161\u0107a is an economicly growing and in addition to traditional sheep farming, the locals have turned to the development of the stone industry. Blaca<\/h3>

Blaca is one of the several hermitages on the island. It began in a stone cave which was used by couple of monks of the Croatian Glagolitic Order as a place of solitude to dedicate themselves to God. The monastery in Blaca was thankfully added to the UNESCO in 2007. Today you can find a museum of weapons, watches and a rare library here. Selce is a village where the charm of the place comes from the fact, that every building here is made of Bra\u010d white stone. One of the most valuable monuments in Selca, made by the Croatia\u2019s most famous sculptor, Ivan Me\u0161trovi\u0107, is a statue \u201eThe Heart of Jesus\u201c placed inside Chruch of Christ the King. Lovrecina Beach<\/h3>

Lovre\u010dina cove is situated on the northern part of the island of Bra\u010d, between Postira and Pu\u010di\u0161\u0107e, known for its large sandy beach and precious archaeological sites. The remains of the St. Lawrence basilica from the 5th and 6th century can be found in Lovre\u010dina and local pilgrims from the surrounding places visit it on the feast day of St. Lawrence, August 10. The small town of Murvica is located near Bol on the island of Brac, and the eponymous beach with is simply enchanting for every visitor. SPLIT<\/strong>
Split is the second largest city in Croatia. It is the main urban, cultural and transport center of Dalmatia, from which roads lead both by land and sea to many resorts throughout Dalmatia. Split is a city of classical Roman, Romanesque and Renaissance architecture. Proof of this is the Diocletian\u00b4s palace, 1700 years old, which is now a historical monument under the auspices of Unesco. In this palace complex there is a cathedral, which was built in the 7th century on top of mausoleum of Emperor Diocletian and named after the protector of the town of Split, St. Duji.
The city is much more than architectual scenery. It is also a venue for vine experiences, film and theatre festivals, exhibitions, museums, concerts, numerous clubs and bars, events such as Ultra Europe festival. Split is a city of sports too, various sport events are organized here. It is the home of dozen olympic medal winners.<\/p>

TROGIR<\/strong>
Trogir is a beautiful historic town and harbour on the Adriatic coast in Split-Dalmatia County. The historic city of Trogir is situated on a small island between the Croatian mainland and the island of \u010ciovo. The historic centre of Trogir has been included in the Unesco list of World Heritage Sites for its Venetian architecture.<\/p>

OMI\u0160<\/strong>
Omi\u0161 is situated at the mouth of the Cetina river, the centre of the Omi\u0161 Riviera. In this city it is possible to see many cultural and historical sites like churches, monuments, forts, museums. For those, who like active holidays, Omi\u0161 is the right destination \u2013 the most popular activity is rafting on Cetina river, paragliding, free climbing, scuba diving, sailing.<\/p>

BLUE GROTTO, BI\u0160EVO<\/strong>
Blue grotto (Modra \u0161pilja) is a unique place on the coast of island of Bi\u0161evo. It is located near the island of Vis. Blue grotto was created by the sea. By ripping into limestone rock, he excavated the space that is today long 24 meters. The depth of the water is 12 meters and the height is about 15 meters. It all depends on the current sea water level in the cave areas.<\/p>
